Tips for family camping holidays by merypreiti

Tips for family camping holidays

Family camping holidays can be an unforgettable experience. However, in order to keep nice –and not  disgusting- memories for the rest of your life, there are some easy tips to be taken into account.

First of all, you have to choose the right place where to camp. Of course, those prepared for camping will make your work easier. Usually the ones by lakes or rivers are the best for family camping, especially for kids. However, they must be first advised about the possible dangers of the area and you should always keep an eye on them.

In terms of clothes, the best option for camping holidays are those that can be easily superimposed and taken off according to the different temperatures. Cotton undershirts, a sweater, a polar, an impermeable coat, several underwear, lots of socks, a hat, towels, several bathing suits, plastic sandals, and sunglasses are par to the basic staff.

Do not forget that nothing can be more disappointing in family camping than a health problem. However, the preventive measures are as simple as necessary. Always include in your first aid kit: analgesics, medicines against diarrhoea, sterile lint, alcohol, cotton, insects repellent, and sun screen.

Be aware of polluted water or foods – such as vegetables washed with pollute water- since most common health problems are related to stomach infections. Sunstroke is another common issue during camping holidays, so make sure everyone in your family use sunglasses, a hat and a good sun screen.

Finally, remember that being in touch with nature, taking a bath in a lake, and being on our own to “survive” is always fun. If you take these important tips into account, you and your family will enjoy the adventure and avoid yourselves a nightmare camping!
